Sister and Brothers:
We recently sent a notice to the website about making sure that you hold any make up meetings on the day and date that is required by your By-laws. It has come to our attention that many Chapters are not aware of the contents of their By-laws and the requirements necessitated therein. As a thought, perhaps at one of your meetings you could review the Chapter By-laws with the members present. We realize that when members are initiated they receive a copy of the Chapter By-laws, but how many of us put it aside and never give them another glance. Another thought would be to put the most important information from your Chapter By-laws in your newsletter from time to time. By reviewing certain aspects of the contents of your By-laws this would prevent any violations of the New Hampshire Constitution and the Red Book and keep your Chapter in compliance with the Rules and Regulations of the Order. We are not telling you that you have to do this, but just as a help and aid. Whenever you do have a problem with the interpretation of your By-laws, remember also, that it is the duty of the Worthy Grand Patron to review them. Any Chapters that need to make changes to allow for make up meetings, increased dues, etc., or need help in any way, please get in touch with the Worthy Grand Patron.
