Here's how the tournament is going to work (a little different than most tournaments...)

- The first three weeks of the tournament will consist of teams competing against two other random teams within the tournament. These matches will be used for me to match up teams as closely as possible. Losing one of these first three matches will -not- eliminate you from the tournament. But winning these matches will give you a better placement within the tournament.

- From the fourth week on, the tournament will begin. It is a single elimination tournament (i.e. you lose, 're out.) until we find out which teams claims victory as the best team at the start of the year 2002.

Now that you know how the tournament is going to run, here are the rules:

First and foremost, there shall be no bashing of other handlers anyplace within the confindes of the Tag Tournament website. If you feel it necessary to talk shit to other handlers, do it through ICQ, E-Mail, etc... But you do it on my board, and I boot your ass. Plain and simple.
The deadline for matches will be 11:59 pm EST on Friday (9:59 pm PST). If you post after this deadline, do not beg me to count it, because it's not going to work. You got a whole week for roleplays, get them done then. No excuses. There will also be no deadlining your opponent. That means you must allow him ample time before the deadline to put up a final post. Ample time = 3 hours (9:59 pm EST, 6:59 am PST). *This rule does not apply if you are DOWN in posting... only if you're tied.*
-- For example, say you and your opponent are tied up at 1 post a-piece, and it's getting near the deadline. The latest you can put up a post to go ahead of him is 3 hours before the deadline.
The -maximum- number of roleplays allowed for each match is 3. No more. Most of the time, though, handlers will communicate between each other and set limits for roleplays, which is cool.
Posts will be no greater than 15k in length. This is to avoid Stephen King novels, and keep interest among the readers and myself. If you can't say what you need to in 15k, you need to be seeking a publisher, not participating in e-wrestling.
The 2 post rule - There is NO going two posts up on your opponent (i.e. 2-0 or 3-1). The only exception is if you have cleared it through your opponent, and you then notify me. Otherwise, the last one don't count.
Do not break Kayfabe. If you do, your roleplay will not be counted. A basic breakage of Kayfabe would be if someone came out and said to the Undertaker, "You're not really the Undertaker, you're not really a dead man. Your name is Mark, and I'm gonna blah blah blah.."
The results of every match will be under the disgression of Chris Best. In cases where the roleplaying is very close, he shall refer to his other judge: Robin Best. If anybody has a problem with having them as judges, please e-mail me before the tournament begins. Otherwise, they stay in place until the tournament is over or they decide to leave.
Here is a small list of some of the things we will be looking for in your roleplays:
- Originality/Creativity (i.e. Do you work strictly off your opponents post, or do you have an orginial idea)
- Smack (generally the more smack the better)
- Communication between partners (i.e. Do both members of the team speak equally, or does one member dominate the roleplay with the other just going "Yeah" every other line?)
