***Absolute Power (2-0) v. The C-Notes (2-0)***
Match Judges: Joe Burke, Michael Simurda (3rd Judge Not Required)
A dream matchup of sorts, as these two powerhouse teams had never met before tonight in tag team competition. However, all four men have clashed on seperate occasions in singles matchups, so they were definitely no strangers to each other. And they dont get any more familiar than Grady Smith and Jack Daniels, who started the contest off. Of course the two know each other so damn well, that getting the upperhand was almost impossible. Grady finally did though, and used a nice belly to back suplex to knock some of the starch out of Daniels to start with. Grady followed it up with a snap suplex, and then completed the trio with a belly to belly suplex that planted Daniels down. Grady went off the ropes and dropped the quick legdrop on Daniels, and the pulled him up and backed him into the corner. A series of knife edge chops got a "WOOOOOOOO" from the crowd, but Daniels would amazingly reverse it and just unload on Grady with some right and left hands. Grady crumbled down a bit, and Daniels proceeded to "stomp a mudhole" into Grady. Daniels would bring Grady back up and go to fling him out of the corner, only to hold onto Grady's hand and then drill him with On The Rocks. Grady bounced off the mat hard, and Daniels went to the second turnbuckle and flattened him with an elbow drop across the chest. Daniels backed up and tagged in Douglas, who flew after Grady off the ropes and nailed a big dropkick. Evan would continue the assault, and nailed a springboard moonsault for a two count. At this point Kanyon was chomping at the bit to get in, and Evan got distracted by his jawing and Grady grabbed his head and sat down with a jawbreaker that rearranged Douglas' facial expression. Grady scrambled over to his fellow C-Note, and Kanyon raced in and went to work on Evan Douglas. These two men also have an apparent disliking for each other, as the two kept exchanging trash talk the entire time. Kanyon came in a hit a swinging neckbreaker on Douglas, and followed that up with an impressive flip over powerbomb. Kanyon unloaded with is pattented right hands, but Douglas would fight back as well and the two exchanged in a punch fest. Douglas' speed prevailed and he used the ropes to nail a springboard back elbow drop on Kanyon. Douglas would go off the ropes and hit Kanyon with a rolling somersault backdrop.
This trend would go on for a solid fifteen minutes, as both teams would go back and forth, never giving up the advantadge completely to the other. Finally, something had to give. All four men eventually got involved in the matchup, as the ref had lost complete control of events at this point. Daniels and Kanyon were the legal men in the ring, and Douglas stuck his leg out and nailed Kanyon in the back. Kanyon turned around and punched Douglas in the head and the walked right into the Lynchburgh Lowdown. Grady instantly charged into the ring and broke up the count, and as the two C-Notes combined for a nice double flapjack. However, Douglas tagged himself in blindly on Daniels back, and entered the ring, nailing Kanyon with a vicious superkick and then a spinning heel kick that decked Grady. Absolute Power was standing tall, as they set Kanyon up for Absolutely Devestating. Grady however would have none of it, as Daniels planted Kanyon with the first powerbomb, but Grady cut out his legs from underneath and Kanyon collapsed to the mat. Grady then hit a beauty of an overhead belly to belly on Daniels, who was vaulted out of the ring. Evan Douglas was Johnny-On-The-Spot though, and clotheslined Grady over the top rope and down to the outside. Douglas turned around to see Kanyon starting to stir and descended to the top rope. Douglas went into position to nail Follow The Ego, but Kanyon was to a knee at this point. Dougals changed strategies and flew off anyway, looking for a big double axe handle to smash Kanyon back down. Kanyon countered the hold, and in the blink of an eye drilled Douglas with the Flatliner. Daniels attempted to get back in, but Grady held on to his foot for dear life and wouldn't let go, and the ref counted to three to end this exciting contest. The C-Notes earn the first #1 seed for the Elimination Brackets, and Absolute Power no doubt will have a #2 seed when all is said and done. An outstanding outing for both teams.
Your Winner: The C-Notes
***Split Infinitive (2-0) v. Rebels Without A Cause (2-0)***
Match Judges: Robin Best, John Solley (3rd Judge Not Required)
The other #1 seed was on the line in this contest, as the rather odd pairing of Split Infinitive met up with the Rebels. The Rebels came into this contest having never lost a contest together as a tag team, putting the streak on the line against the determined Ray Willmott and the psychotic Harvey Knox. Knox started the matchup off against Rebel, who decided to do some sort of weird NASCAR impression and pretend to "fire up his engine". Knox took good care of that, as he just violent reached out, grabbed Rebl and nailed one of the most vicious spinebusters in recent memory. Rebel crumpled up like an accordian, and Knox picked him back up and flung him into the corner and just unloaded with a series of right hands that made Rebel's head spin around like a top. Rebel got rudely brought out of the corner, as Knox locked him in and literally flung him damn near out of the ring with an overhead belly to belly suplex. Apparently that wasn't enough, and Willmott got tagged in. Willmott let Rebel crawl back to his corner and tag in Mills, and he and Willmott tied up. This actually turned out to be a good contest for a while, as Mills got the initial upperhand, using his huge size and strength advantadge to nail a quick release powerbomb and gorilla press slam as well. A few power moves later, and Willmott got flung into the corner. Mills charged in, but Willmott's quickness prevailed as he dodged the avalanche clothesline and then hit a nice springboard DDT. Willmott and Knox would then come together and use some nice teamwork, as Knox showed his freakish strength holding Mills over his knee while Willmott nailed a flying guillotine legdrop. The two would also nail a double arm drag and double suplex on the big Mills. Mills stood up, and Knox decided he had enough of Rebel, who was standing on the outside taunting him. Knox shoved Mills into Rebel, thereby "tagging" Rebel in as the legal man. Knox pulled Rebel over the top rope to the center of the ring, and then showed him that The Jokes On You, drilling him almost through the ring with the F5 tornado DDT. Knox got up and clotheslined Mills to the outside, and then pointed right at Willmott. Rebel then found himself the first victim of the Double Negative, as Knox drilled the first powerbomb, and then Willmott raced in to nail Echoes In Eternity on the second of the two powerbombs. Rebel was out racing around lala lands race track, and Willmott made the succesful pin as Knox stood over them waiting to attack anything that moved. Split Infinitve with a great showing this week, and they wrap up the other #1 seeding. The Rebels suffer their first defeat as a team, but will also get a high seed, and look to rebound next week in the Elimination Bracket.
Your Winner: Split Infinitive
***Amerika's Most Wanted (1-1) v. The Dynasty (1-1)***
Match Judges: Ray Willmott, Robin Best (3rd Judge Not Required)
Well, there’s a lot of history and a lot of anger going into this match. Four pioneers, two sets of best of friends, and only one team has the opportunity for a high seeding in the tournament, but which team is it going to be? America’s Most Wanted are coming off a tough loss last week, and The Dynasty are coming off a sound victory, but will that be a factor in the outcome of the match? Shawn Michaels, being the hot head that he is, started out on fire, by laying into Smirtdogg in the far right hand corner of the ring. Shawn nailed some stiff jabs, and then shot Smirt across to the other side of the ring, following it up with a turnbuckle splash. Michaels however wouldn’t go for the pinfall and then headed straight to the top rope, to connect with a stinging elbow right in the chest cavity of Smirt. Michaels then covered Smirt, but Haywood saved the day for his partner. Smirt rolled onto the outside of the ring, to suck some wind into his lungs, but he didn’t get much of a chance because Michaels went right back on the attack, smashing Smirt’s skull into the steel steps. Smirt reeled and then literally fell back into the ring, as Michaels continued to keep him grounded. Finally Shawn made the tag to the “ogre”, and Erik Draven came in like he’d seen red. Draven assaulted Smirtdogg some more, to pay back some of the comments made during the week. Draven went to end it early, by going for the Mindwipe, but Smirtdogg wisely held onto the ropes, and Draven’s head snapped back against the canvas. Smirt then dived into the AMW corner and allowed Haywood to pick up the pieces. Haywood and Draven have had their past and they certainly re-ignited it in the ring. Haywood laid into the big man with chops, punches, kicks, shoulder thrusts, you name it, he did it! Haywood then decided to mat wrestle the big man, and then tried to go for the Chronic, but Erik kicked Haywood away, and then managed a small package, which Wood kicked out of. Wood continued to ground Erik, so as not to let the Ogre get back to his feet, and that’s when he went to the top rope…
…Wood was going for a breathtaking shooting star press, but Erik got up there first, caught Haywood and nailed him with the Fallen Angel!!! The crowd blew the roof off, and then Erik slapped his partner’s hand. HBK dived into the corner and then began to tune up the band, feeling that his Triple Crown dreams were getting closer and closer. The thumping of the foot got louder and louder, and the roar of the crowd was deafening. Wood finally got up, HBK dived, but Wood managed the counter, spun HBK around and then connected with a stiff clothesline. Wood crawled over, and made the tag to Smirt, who now remains in the corner. Smirt then began to mock HBK, pretending to warm up the band, and laughing at the fans who boo’ed his efforts. Everyone knows that HBK and Smirtdogg have the exact same finisher, and Smirtdogg continued to lap up the attention. Finally, as HBK rose, he went in for the kill, but HBK sensed it, and nailed a HUUUUUUUUGE SUPERKICK right on the jaw of Smirt, before the gangster came in. HBK then, who was a little giddy at first, fell on top of Smirt, and the referee counted once…twice…
…BUT NOT THREE TIMES!!!!! Wood got his Shooting Star Press in, sensing what was going to go down and broke up the cover. That awoke the sleeping giant as Erik took both himself and Wood over the top rope and onto the outside. HBK was slowly coming too, but Smirtdogg seized the opportunity and slapped on the Thug breaker!! HBK screamed in pain and started struggling towards the ropes, but Smirt would not relinquish the hold! HBK tried to fight out of it, and eventually countered, and then got Smirt out of the ring. However, Wood snuck up from behind and slapped the Chronic on HBK who again tried his best to fight out of it, but Smirtdogg undeterred charged in, and smashed HBK’s teeth down his throat with a thunderous True Perfection superkick. After completing the Coupe De Gras, Wood made sure Erik couldn’t make the save, and the referee had no choice but to count to three. America’s Most Wanted have managed to escape the Round Robin brackets with a 2-1 record, and they’re looking mighty tough to beat, heading into the elimination bracket!
Your Winner: Amerika's Most Wanted
***Bad Mojo (1-1) v. Air Rage (1-1)***
Air Rage went from sky high to ground zero in a matter of one week, as El Feroz and the Colonel deep fried their asses and handed out the kiddie toys to boot. MISSLE, who had really been impressive thus far, must have been snuck a bad burrito before the match or something, as Jesus compeltely upstaged him in the high flying moves department. In the end, it was the Wrist Clutch Exploder on MISSLE that ended the contest only minutes in, and both teams finish with 2-1 round robin records.
Your Winner: Bad Mojo
***The Fucking Fuckers (1-1) v. Two Smooth (1-1)***
The Fucking Fuckers got fucked up last week, but they said fuck it and stopped fucking around this week, fucking up Two Smooth in three fucking minutes. Robert Fucking Orr stepped into the fucking ring and hit some nice fuckin' powermoves, including a fuckin press slam, a fuckin' drainer suplex and a nice fuckin' spear that about fuckin' ripped Shawn fuckin' Copeland in half. Enough fucking around at this point, as the fucking Superstar Slam fuckin' ended the fuckin' match. Nice fuckin' job boys.
Your Winner:The Fucking Fuckers
***The Pragging Praggars (0-2) v. The Otherside (0-2)***
The Otherside came to life last week, and only narrowly were defeated by The Dynasty. This week Beckett and Harmston were really on their game, and it showed as they wasted the Pragging Praggars in a two minute snorefest. Well, unless you're an Otherside fan that is. Harrison Phillips got his ass kicked around for a few moments, and then took a trip to The Otherside, sealing up a cakewalk for Harmston and Beckett. They pull out a win before the Elimination Bracket, and will have a much better seed because of it.
Your Winner: The Otherside
***Reality Check (0-2) v. Apocolypse Now (0-2)***
The match started with a big ass box in the center of the ring, with a big bow on it. Reality Check hit the ring first, wondering what the hell was in the box. They opened it up, and we found TME staggering out of the box, singing "DO YOU REALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLY WANNA HURRRRRRT MEEEEEEEEEEEE!!! DO YOU REALLLLLY WANNA MAKE MEEEEEEEEE CRYYYYYYYYYYYY!" Apparently too much NyQuill really does kill brain cells. The Real Deal turned around, and found himself decapitated thanks to a Pin Puller from Bazooka Joe, and then X-Calibur got the same. Bazooka pinned them both for the win, and TME passed out having never entered the matchup officially.
Your Winner: Apocolypse Now
***The Loco Lude Luchas (0-2) v. Olde School Revolution (0-2)***
Double No Show, Double Loss
Your Winner: No Contest
