***Absolute Power (1-0) v. Amerikas Most Wanted (1-0)***
To say these two teams have history against each other is a gross understatement. They were a stable together, know each other like the back of their hands, and have a lot of history and pride riding on this one. Clearly both teams are evenly matched, so tonight was a question of which way the ball was going to roll, and who'd get the lucky break. Evan Douglas and Haywood Jublome wasted no time whatsoever in getting reaquainted, as they locked up right off the bat and decided absolutely nothing. The offense went back and forth, as Haywood caught Evan in a cross body attempt and hit a nice overhead fall away slam. Haywood would try one of his patented drainer suplexes, only to find Douglas prepared and drill him with a reverse DDT. The two kept at it, and the tide finally turned when Haywood countered an Evan DDT attempt with a nice bridging suplex for a two count. Jublome got up and literally soccer kicked Douglas in the coconuts, which obviouslly would make anyone's day pretty much ruined. Smirtdogg would then tag in and march right on the offensive, nailing Douglas with a nice standing spinning heel kick, and then add insult to injury waiting for Douglas to get up...only to slam him right back down with a nice side slam (Rock Bottom/Book End...whatever it is these days). Smirt would then taunt Jack Daniels, as he would let Douglas get so far to his corner, only to drag Douglas back to the center of the ring for more punishment. However, one taunt too many occured, and as Smirt held Douglas' foot, Douglas used a beauty of an inside revese kick to flatten Smirt and send him to the ground, and the Drunken Bastard got in and cleaned house. Haywood charged the ring, only to find himself a victom of On The Rocks. Smirt stood up and charged for the clothesline, only to have Daniels duck and then barrell in behind him and about knock the wind out of him with a huge shoulderblock. Daneils waited for Smirt to come out, and then nailed the Double Shot, and ending it putting Smirt in the half crab submission. Jublome wisely saw this and scrambled to break it up, only to have Douglas literally fly into the screen out of no where and derail him with a flying leg lariot. All sense of order was lost at this point, and Smirt reeled back and lined Daniels up for True Perfection, and connected....with the ref. (These guys take way too much abuse...god love 'em.) The ref was out, and it got really nasty at that point. And, you guessed it...steel chairs came into play. After gaining the upperhand with a nice powerbomb/reverse neckbreaker combo on Douglas, Jack Daniels snuck in and had Jublome up in the Lynchburgh Lowdown, only to have Smirt cut his legs out from under him and Jublome fall on top of him., Amerika's Most Wanted then went outside and returned with the Iron. Haywood took his position and just decked Jack Daniels, knocking him loopy. Smirtdoog swung as well, but found Douglas not as hurt as he thought, and Douglas ducked and then spun around and nailed Smirt with a Van Damninator. Steel chairs went flying out of the ring, and Smirtdogg and Jack Daniels weren't getting up without the power of smelling salts or at the very least a blonde woman in high heels. The ref stood back up, shaking the cobwebs out, and saw Smirtdogg and Daniels out, and Jublome and Douglas now back to thier corners. In a contest that couldn't be more even, it came down to...cheating! Well, sort of. Jublome and Douglas kept sneaking into the ring, trying to outfox the other one and get to their man. The ref kept screaming at both of them to stay put, but neither would listen. Finally someone got caught red handed, and it was Jublome the ref caught in the ring and ordered back to his corner. That was just barely enough time for Douglas to sprint his ass off in the ring and pull Jack Daniels' arm on top of Smirtdogg and get back to his corner. The ref turned around and started the count, as Douglas just flung himself at Jublome to stop him from breaking up the fall....and was succesful. The ref slapped the mat three times, and the best tag team match thus far in the MTT was complete. In a match that was far too even to be decided by skill, dumb luck wins out...and sometimes, that's the best thing in the world. Absolute Power eeks out a win against thier hated foes, and goes for a #1 seed next week. Amerika's Most Wanted will look to grab a #2 seed, and instill the fear of God into whoever crosses their path next week...I certainly wouldn't want to be on the end of their payback.
Your Winner: Absolute Power
***Air Rage (1-0) v. Rebels Without A Cause (1-0)***
The Rebels came in off their impressive win last week against a team they recognized and knew well, particularly Jon Collins. However, Mills and Rebel would find that this week would not be the cakewalk that they enjoyed last week. In fact, it was a breathtaking encounter that featured some great highflying action and solid mat wrestling to boot. Collins started out against Rebel, and gave him quite the welcome to our circuit by turning up the juice. Early on, Rebel went for a suplex, and Collins flipped over in mid air and just planted Rebel with a belly to back suplex. Rebel would come back with a knee strike to the midsection and come off the ropes for a clothesline, only to find Collins waiting to block it and hit a beauty of a swinging neckbreaker as well. Collins kept on the attack, using the outside of the ropes to spring over and hit a rolling moonsault on Rebel for a two count. Missle then came in and introduced himself with a nice looking swanton bomb, and then went right back upstairs for the frog splash...and ate canvas, as Rebel got his ass outta dodge. Mills got tagged in, and he grounded the airborne Missle with a nice series of overhead suplexes, and followed them up with a spinebuster that shook the ring. Sensing the end was near, Mills hoisted Missle up on his shoulders and prepared for the Rebel Rocker...only to find a brilliant move by Collins counter it. Collins raced in and ran up the ropes, and used a belly to belly suplex to fling Rebel across the canvas. Missle then rolled down Mills back for the victory roll, and the crowd about "ooohed" their way out of the seat as Mills managed to get his shoulder up at the last possible second. Collins and Missle hit a nice double hip toss, and then followed it up with a combination legdrop and double foot to the...uh....lower region. Mills was in bad shape at this point, and just to make matters worse he found himself on the receiving end of The Falling Sky, which again brought the fans to their feet. Collins raced back to his corner as the ref counted, and would have hit three, but Rebel dragged the ref out of the ring to break up the count. Collins screamed at the referee to disqualify the Rebels, but the ref would only give them a warning on this occasion. But Collins encounter with the ref was long enough for Rebel to sneak into the ring, as Missle got Romped and dropped just as fast. Rebel pulled an unconcious Mills on top of Missle as the ref started the count, and Collins couldn't get there in time as Rebel attacked him before he could get into the ring to break up the count. The Rebels steal victory on this night in a match they clearly could have lost, and survive enough to fight next week for a coveted #1 seed in the Elimination Bracket. If these two teams meet again, the roof just might come off though, as Air Rage is going to be damn hard for anyone to handle.
Your Winner: Rebels Without A Cause
***The C-Notes (1-0) v. The Fucking Fuckers (1-0)***
For the second time in as many weeks, the C-Notes ran into absolutely no resistance what so ever, this time against the team of Chris Kage and Robert Orr. For Chris Kage, it was a nightmare and revisitation of the NYSWF, as Kanyon started the matchup for the C-Notes...and then finished it just under two minutes flat. No offense at all from Kage, as whatever he tried got instantly countered by Kanyon. After a blocked backslide, Kanyon quickly spun Kage around and nailed the Flatliner, which sealed the deal. The C-Notes now move on next week to try and secure a #1 seed for the Elimination Bracket.
Your Winner: The C-Notes
***Split Infinitive (1-0) v. Two Smooth (1-0)***
Match Judge: John Solley
Not really a whole lot to report on this matchup, as the old guard team of Conklin and Copeland simply got overwhelmed. Knox started the match up and just bruatlized Terry Conklin, who realized The Jokes on You after Knox drilled him with the F5 tornado DDT. Knox then flung Conklin back into his own corner for Copeland to tag in, and Knox turned around and smacked Ray Willmott on the chest to "tag him in". Willmott came roaring out of his corner, spearing down Copeland and just going bezerk with right and left hands. Willmott would keep on the offensive unmercifully, showing a new found intensity that we haven't seen from him in quite a long time. Copeland had one shot at an offensive manuever, and went up for his Money Clip...but Willmott simply rolled out of the way, waited for Copeland to get up and then drilled him with the Echoes In Eternity. Willmott hooked the leg, and not surprisingly, Conklin was in no rush to try and get around Knox who was waiting to see if he'd break up the pinfall. Willmott looks sensational, and Split Infinitve moves on next week with a shot at a top spot for the Elimination Round.
Your Winner: Split Infinitive
***The Otherside (0-1) v. The Dynasty (0-1)***
Erik Draven and Alexander Harmston have no love lost for each other, and during the week it appeared as though Chris Beckett and Shawn Michaels started to take a healthy disliking to each other as well. By the time the bell sounded, both teams were quite eager to get at each other...and so they did. Michaels started it off with Harmston, and the ol' Glory Hound swiftly took control, grounding the upbeat pace of Shawn Michaels with a series of wear down moves and submission strategy. HBK would fight his way out of being turned into a human pretzle however, and nailed a nice flying forearm off the ropes and quickly slapped on a figure four of his own. Harmston being a master submissionist would find a way to endure the pain long enough to flip the figure four over, as both men crawled to their corners. Young Chris Beckett met the "edler statesman" in Erik Draven, and quickly found that trying to slug Draven in the head wasn't the best approach to take. Draven flung Beckett into the corner and unloaded with several knee strikes, and then tossed him 3/4 of the way across the ring. Draven charged and got an avalanche/clothesline in, and then went back to the well again...however, one time too many. Beckett moved out of the way and used the ropes for a nice springboard missle dropkick that took Draven down. Beckett worked over on the big man's knees, with a smart strategy to try and immobilize him. At one point Beckett distracted the referee and Harmston put on a ringpost figure four illegally on Draven, who screamed in pain before HBK ran around the ring, hopped up on the apron, and nailed an elbow right across Harmston's throat in a great display of athleticism. At that point, the fun began as all four members got involved. Beckett tagged in Harmston blindly in a smart move, and Beckett flew over the top rope and hit a cross body on HBK. Harmston waited for Draven to get to his feet, and attempted to take the big man down for the Glory Hound. Draven blocked it half way, and it became a power struggle to see if Draven could stand of Harmston could take him down. HBK at this point though had outsmarted Beckett and taken him down and dumped him to the outside. HBK hit the ring, and Draven spotted him. Draven used the last of his energy to stand up and duck, as HBK drilled an unsuspecting Harmston with the Sweet Chin Music. Harmston collapsed unconcious, and Draven fell on top of him as the ref counted to three. A great contest in this one, and I'm sure we're going to hear more from both these teams in the Elimination Bracket. Anyone counting either of them out is in for a rude awakening.

***The Loco Lude Luchas (0-1) v. Bad Mojo (0-1)***
Last weeks lost left quite a bad taste in Sean Sanders mouth, and he came out with guns blaring and just laid one hell of a beating on the poor Luchadors. Jesus also got some good licks in on his fellow countrymen, but that's about where the comparisons stopped on this night. Bad Mojo puts a bad beating on The Loco Lude Luchas, as Pretty Boy Ramon Marteen ate the Bad Mojo...which also doubles as the finisher, in case you got confused...which I did...and wrapped up this match inside of three minutes. Good rebound for Sanders and Jesus, as they have a chance next week to secure a good seeding for the Elimination Round.
Your Winner: Bad Mojo
